The sound quality of these headphones is not the best, I was expecting more from a brand like Audio Technica. I like the removable cable, which also happens to have a small connector on the end which fits my iPhone 2G.
The noise canceling on these works VERY well. It takes a few seconds to recognize the noise after you turn it on, so it isn't immediately noticeable...but after a few seconds it drowns everything out. The difference is immediately noticeable when you turn the feature off.
The headphones are also very comfortable, I can wear them for hours with minimal discomfort.
I spend over two hours a day commuting via bus and railroad from New York City to Long Island. I have been looking for years for headphones that really did block noise, delivered excellent quality sound, and were easy on the ears (often headphones with cups create a sealed pocket around the ear which makes the ear quite sweaty). These plop right on the ears and for some reason don't do that. My one complaint is that the noise reduction switch is quite small and quite sensitive (i.e. movement is a bit less that 1/2 inch from full volume to no volume. It is also quite sensitive to touch--a brush of the arm can change volume considerable. Once you adjust however, well, I'm finally satisfied. Believe me, I have been doing this commute since 1967 and have been looking for just the right headphones ever since. These so far by far are the best.
