For the money, these "little" wonders are as good as it gets. After about 100 hours, their true character comes out - clean mids and highs, great soundstage, and visceral bass
Pros:
-Sound incredible for the money; can compete with MANY much higher-priced phones, especially of the boutique variety (Bose, Skullcandy, etc)
-Comfortable for long stretches
-Don't require a dedicated amplifier (but can still benefit from one)
-Simple, functional, and durable design
Cons:
-Pleather earcups get quite hot; not unique to these but rather a characteristic of all closed and semi-closed headphones with pleather cups
Other thoughts:
-Quite large. These compete with the Everglide S500's for being the biggest cans I own
-These aren't true closed phones. As such, they do not provide the isolation you may expect
Final thought:
-If you only have $50 to spend on full-size headphones, there is simply no point in looking any further. They aren't just great for the money. They are just plain great.

Well, I'll try to keep this quick...I'll probably fail.
Hard to say anything original about these phones(by the way, please...never....EVER...use the word 'cans' again when speaking of headphones, it was cute the first billion times...but now just plain embarrassing, seriously, NOBODY is impressed that you just learned a new word) that hasn't already been said a thousand times. OUT of the box they're quality sound...lotsa bass available. THERE is a 'burn-in' period where just by playing sound through them they become even clearer...more 'crisp'. Excellent.
I read a trillion reviews like most of us before buying...these happen to be one of those rare times where 'fan-boy'ism is irrelevant. In other words...unless you get a 'dud' pair somehow, these are ACTUALLY good.
As you've read before, the phones themselves ARE big...however, when I picked them up for the first time I was surprised at how light they are....and frankly, I think they look great...and if I want to wear them outside...I'll wear them outside, why should I give a monkeys nostril what anyone else thinks about how I look. I've got bigger concerns in my life.
The pads, as someone else has mentioned, have a great 'squishyness' to them. Normally with new headphones I have to 'wear them in' until the plastic alleviates to my head. I can't speak for anyone else, but out-of-the-box I've had these on my head for over six hours at a time and no real discomfort..and they will only get better. Nice.
Also, while not being an 'audiophile', I couldn't care much less about 'soundstage' and all the other esoteric nuances of that realm...HOWever...like others...when listening to files that I've heard many times before...I really CAN hear sounds that I've never heard before with these things. Impressive.
Finally, if you get these things at whatever low price you can, you will not be able to say you got a bad deal(again, unless you get a 'dud'). No Way, no How...even if you've been buying the overpriced stuff for years.
If, on the other hand, you succumb to fanboy-istic reviews of something else,,,you will likely NOT know what you're passing up. Your life won't be over...your children will probably be born upside down and naked like everyone else,,,You'll just've missed out on a good value, nothing more.
And the REAL 'finally': They cannot save your soul, they're only headphones...but they are a rather honorable value in a rather dishonorable commercial world. And that's all I have to say about that. Have a noble life.
